You heard it here first. This week on campus has been an interesting one. It was the first Monday and Tuesday of classes. Of course, the academic year didn't start until Wednesday two weeks ago, and then Martin Luther King Day last Monday and bad weather Tuesday. So yesterday and the day before were the first Monday and Tuesday of classes. It only took until the third week. Just a little something I find interesting. Hello, everyone listening on your commute or on your radio if you have one. And especially hello to our tune in listeners. It's so happy to have y'all listening receive word that Christian should be getting here soon. So until then, enjoy old soul song by bright Eyes. I'm Andrew and this is on 90.7 the morning show. All right, it's 09:00 here on 90.7 the morning show, which is around the time for our weekly Weezer Wednesday. That's right. So on this day in Weezer history, January 24 in 1997, weezer performed at the Barrymore Theater in Madison, Wisconsin to play their tour for their album Pinkerton. And in 2019, on this day, January 24, Weezer Surprise released their 12th album, the Teal Album. See, Weezer has been active a long time and I have a lot of respect for them. So today we'll be playing a song from the Teal album, a known classic Billie Jean by Weezer. Enjoy. That was number one sound by transistor. Welcome back to 90.7 the morning show. This is Andrew. We hope you're enjoying listening from wherever you are. For those of you who want to listen on the go, you can listen to us on the tune in app, available wherever you get your apps. Download it. Just search up WVUA and you'll find us 90.7 the Capstone. And right now, you're listening to 90.7 the morning show where it's time for. [00:04:54] Speaker C: Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Do not distort the weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. [00:05:12] Speaker B: All right, Tuscaloosa, 62 degrees and drizzling. Expect to see those conditions all the day long. The drizzle turning into rains in the next few hours. Living a mile an hour wind. We're 27 miles an hour gusts, and it feels like it's 63 for the first time. And I don't know how long that feels like it's warmer than the actual temperature. [00:05:39] Speaker C: Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. [00:05:50] Speaker B: All right, everyone, it's time for today's affirmation. Because whether the weather is good or bad, we've always got something to make you glad on 90.7 the morning show. Home. Despite the fact that I am eebies and nebies to sleepies, I will remember that I'm a student here on campus who must studies and hang out with my buddies. Thank you. All right, that's the daily affirmation on 90.7, the morning show. Up next, we have our Crimson White segment. The crimson White is where we get all our news and views. In today's story, we're talking about Alabama gymnastics, which has been on fire this year. Just this previous Friday, Alabama went up against Arkansas. And let me tell you, I was there every single event. All these incredible athletes were scoring nine point seven. S nine point eight, nine point nine. So you just had to be there. It was two incredible teams going up against each other, and you were not able to tell who had the advantage. And that's exactly what the judges thought, too. In turn of events, there was no winner from that last matchup with the teams, resulting in a tie between the Crimson Tide and the Razorbacks. And, well, at that gymnastics meet, yes, I enjoyed watching all the events. Incredible gymnastics. I also was on a little mission to find our mascot, gargantuan Albert, otherwise known as Big Al. You see the week before this last meet was his birthday and they did some stuff for his birthday celebration. I wasn't able to go, but I did make a big card for him. I was really excited to give to him and so I didn't want him to go to waste. So I just went the next week and I found Big Al. I talked to security guy who talked to some of Big Al's handlers and they made sure he had come to see me before he went away to do whatever he does once he's off the stage. And I was able to give Big Al his birthday card, had a picture of him that I had drawn on the front and he was just so happy to see it. Just one of the highlights of that night. Besides the incredible gymnastics, we love Big Al here on 90.7, the morning show. And that fills in our big Al. Watch. I feel like Big Al hasn't been quite as active and around campus this semester compared to last semester, really. After thanksgiving, I felt like we didn't see him as much. Maybe that's due to the weather, maybe it's due to how cold it was. But I feel like Big Al should just be everywhere, always accessible there when you need him. I know he was going around giving people hugs after they found out Nick Saban retired. And let me say, that was a great thing he did. A lot of people needed hugs that day. Of course. Big Al has been doing a great job and we love him here on 90.7, the morning show. It's an honor to bring you this content today. It's a shame that my co host wasn't able to make it today. We hope to have him back on the air next week and be able to bring you a classic morning show episode that I know you all know and love. Until then, everyone, enjoy your morning, enjoy the rest of your day and we'll talk to you guys next week. We're going to resume our music playing with the only heartbreaker by Mitsky. Enjoy everyone. [00:10:59] Speaker A: WVUA FM, tuscaloosa.
