[00:00:00] Speaker A: Wvuafm tuscaloosa. [00:00:11] Speaker B: That was love is the drug by Roxy Music welcome back to 90.7 the morning show. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for your favorite segment, the weekly Watch, where usually we'll talk about movies, occasionally tv shows, but there is a whole brand of content that has gone unexplored on 90.7 the morning show. [00:00:35] Speaker A: That's right. [00:00:36] Speaker B: Why don't you tell us about it? [00:00:38] Speaker A: We're talking about, you know, we live in the digital age, folk, the age of computers. And so today with y'all, we are going to be discussing the wonders of YouTube. That's right, YouTube, the new age of media. [00:00:53] Speaker B: Wow. [00:00:54] Speaker A: So we're going to talk about what we've been watching on YouTube lately. We're going to try and spice it up. So I've started becoming a big video essay guy. I've been watching a lot of, I watched a video essay on Dune recently that was quite interesting. I watched this very enlightening video essay on politics in France and the history of the centralization of political power in France under the capacian dynasty and later the Valois and the brabants. [00:01:27] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:01:27] Speaker A: Quite interesting. My YouTube, quite enlightening and educational, is. [00:01:31] Speaker B: Being taken over by, like, shorts. [00:01:33] Speaker A: Oh, no, I love YouTube shorts. [00:01:35] Speaker B: And the thing is, I was really on a, it's kind of Stalin on like, a Pokemon kick. And I emulated all the games. [00:01:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:01:41] Speaker B: Watch, like, the different walkthroughs and, like, the streamers that I'll do all these cool challenges with, like, rom hacks of the games. And so now when I go to YouTube shorts, it's just Pokemon. Pokemon, Pokemon. Like occasional, like J. Schlatt. Yeah. The sleep deployed, sleep deprived Minecraft. Yeah. The SDMP. [00:02:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:02:03] Speaker B: You know, a lot of the content there. Yeah, it's been a lot of fun. You know, it's kind of bringing back all the great personalities from SMP live. But, you know, it's finally brought him back together. [00:02:13] Speaker A: Indeed, because, you know, there was that. [00:02:15] Speaker B: Whole controversy with, call me Carson. Right? Yeah, he was never that funny, but he had this talent for finding these really good people and surrounding himself with them and bringing these people together, these people that can all hold, like, their own brands. [00:02:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:28] Speaker B: But then when all that happened, they all went their separate ways. And this is like the first time that they've really kind of come back. And of course, it's not the same. It's never gonna be the same. But the bringing back together, it's doing a lot, you know, Jay Schlatt's really, really come a long way since, you know, I'm a big fan of it. He's really coming to his own, I know. [00:02:50] Speaker A: To quote Patrick Bateman on the air. [00:02:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. A real, real 90.7 in the morning show hero. [00:02:59] Speaker A: He is indeed. Yes. We salute Patrick Bateman. [00:03:02] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:03:03] Speaker A: A great american. Yeah. No, my YouTube shorts, for some reason, has a lot of. Lately it's been having a lot of clips of shameless. Shameless. Yeah, yeah. Good show, good show. It's not, you know, it's. No, it's always sunny or anything. [00:03:17] Speaker B: It's not. [00:03:18] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:03:18] Speaker B: So have you been able to watch? I mean, I know you're really busy right now, but it's always sunny. [00:03:23] Speaker A: No, no. See, I really don't have much time for television. In fact, most of the video essays I watch is because video essays help me pass out. [00:03:31] Speaker B: They do. [00:03:31] Speaker A: When I go to sleep. [00:03:32] Speaker B: That reminds me of something. So I let me go to sleep back home, put them on when I'm. [00:03:36] Speaker A: Ready to go to bed. [00:03:37] Speaker B: Yeah, back home, I like this iPad. And I just put on whatever YouTube thing and fall asleep too. Right? [00:03:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:43] Speaker B: Many people have something like that, right? So I have this iPad and it's like a very old iPad, like one of the first few generations. It's a huge monster. Like, they don't even make iPads as big as the one I have. Like. [00:03:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Anymore. At least they didn't for a while. And it's just so old that not long ago I tried open YouTube and I can't. Oh, no, it's. The YouTube was no longer compatible with this mammoth iPad. So what I did is go to the browser and you look up YouTube and I saved it to as a, as an icon because apparently my iPad was. Got that update. Yeah. [00:04:17] Speaker A: But not that actually able to open. [00:04:18] Speaker B: The YouTube app and so I can save it to my home screen. And so it opens. And it just opens a tab. So now I have to, like, close tabs of YouTube videos, but it still works. And the best thing, because of how the incompatibility and even the browser kind of barely works, it's like an older video player. [00:04:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:37] Speaker B: I can skip through ads. I just, I can fast forward through ads. [00:04:40] Speaker A: Oh, that's cool. [00:04:41] Speaker B: The little thing like, boop, boop. [00:04:43] Speaker A: Well, that's wonderful. And so I need to get an extremely outdated iPad. [00:04:47] Speaker B: I guess that probably isn't that hard to do. [00:04:50] Speaker A: No. [00:04:51] Speaker B: So my daily watches, you know, when I'm back home and just got that iPad going and it's, it's a real treat. [00:04:58] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:04:59] Speaker B: You know. Cause I wake up in the morning. [00:05:01] Speaker A: And I acting like p. Diddy. [00:05:03] Speaker B: Yeah. And I turn the iPad, you know, like a ten I've had off, you know, and I'm like, all right. And then I get ready to go outside. [00:05:10] Speaker A: Should not have made that reference. I just realized. [00:05:13] Speaker B: No. And so I wake up and I'll turn the iPad off, you know, bring it, like, out of bed so I can charge it. But then I need to get ready for the day. But I need to know what the wear. But I can only know what to wear if I know what's going on outside. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Oh, you're wondering. [00:05:28] Speaker B: And if you want to find out what you should wear today, for you, I think you can figure out what's going outside if you listen to the. [00:05:42] Speaker A: Report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Do not distort the weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. Weather report. What's the weather looking like? [00:05:59] Speaker B: Andrew? Right? Good morning, Tuscaloosa. It's a high of 74 and a low of 61, and it's currently 65 degrees. Expect it to be cloudy until 02:00 p.m. When the rain starts. And at 04:00 p.m. When the lightning starts. It's gonna be a beautiful day. The fuel deck is 65 degrees and 87% humidity. You know, Kristen, it's not the heat that gets it, it's the humidity. Whether the weather is good or bad, we've always got something to make you glad. On 90.7, the morning show, Kristen hit us with our weekly affirmation. [00:06:49] Speaker A: Today, I will make sure if any bad weather happens that I can. I'm close to a safe place and that I have adequate head coverings. However, lord willing and the crick don't rise, no tornadoes or anything will happen. But once again, if I do, I'm not caught out in an area where I cannot fulfill proper safety protocols. Mmm. That's a classic Alabama daily affirmation. Real Alabamians, real people from west Alabama and central Alabama know. But also remember, dear listeners, if tornadoes do happen today, which there is a chance they do happen, sadly, make sure to find a safe space, preferably a basement or some type place like that. Or a bathroom, specifically in your tub, nowhere near any windows. And if you have a football helmet or a baseball helmet or some form of hard head covering, like a hard hat, put it on and stay safe. And make sure to listen. If you have a weather radio or something like that, maybe an old boombox. Turn it on to a radio station that carries the weather. And make sure to listen to that. [00:08:02] Speaker B: All right? But speaking of what people should be listening to, we're gonna take it back to the music, and we'll see you all in a few minutes on 90.7, the morning show. [00:08:18] Speaker A: Wvuafm Tuscaloosa. It's like a greek chorus in this. And that was a lot of the design of the show, was to use the jury as a greek chorus, you know, to kind of commentate upon the events happening. [00:08:40] Speaker B: Wow. From the background, I think that's pretty crazy. [00:08:44] Speaker A: I think that's a good rundown on all of. [00:08:46] Speaker B: But I am not crazy. I knew he swapped those numbers. I knew it was 1216, one after the Magna Carta. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never. I just. I just couldn't prove it. He covered his tracks. He got that idiot at the copy shop to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This. This chicanery? He's done worse. That. That billboard? Are you telling me a man just happens to fall like that? No. He orchestrated it. Jimmy. He defecated through a sunroof. And I saved him. And I shouldn't have took him into my own firm. What was I thinking? He'll never change. He'll never change. Ever since he was nine, always the same. Couldn't keep his hands out of the cash drawer. But not our Jimmy. Couldn't be our precious Jimmy. And he gets to be a lawyer. What a sick joke. I should have stopped him when I had the chance. And you. You have to stop him. [00:09:43] Speaker A: So. Yeah, there's a little chicanery for you. [00:09:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:46] Speaker A: Shout out better call Saul. [00:09:47] Speaker B: Shout out better call Saul. Shout out. Shout out Chuck. [00:09:51] Speaker A: Shout out Chuck. [00:09:52] Speaker B: Chuck McGill. [00:09:52] Speaker A: Chuck, indeed. All right, big king. [00:09:55] Speaker B: All right. [00:09:56] Speaker A: Well, not to be confused with. With the chuck that used to own Snead's feed and seed, if you remember your Simpsons. [00:10:05] Speaker B: Oh, well, they look up that reference. Let's put it back to the music with wonderful time by certainly so. And we'll see you in a few minutes on 90.7, the morning show. [00:10:24] Speaker A: Wvuafm Tuscaloosa. [00:10:35] Speaker B: That was wonderful time by certainly so. And, Christian, do you know what time it is? [00:10:41] Speaker A: You know, I'm looking down at my watch. I think it might be time to celebrate our favorite holiday of the year. [00:10:48] Speaker B: Yeah. What's that? [00:10:49] Speaker A: I think it could possibly be Weezer. [00:10:54] Speaker B: Wednesday. [00:10:56] Speaker A: 90.7. The Capstones. Wednesday morning show. [00:11:01] Speaker B: All right. So what happened today? In Weezer history. [00:11:05] Speaker A: Well, you know, I'm here on our favorite website, Weezerpedia, where we get all of our learning and education from. And I saw that today, April 10, five years ago, six years ago. Now it's 2024. [00:11:21] Speaker B: Wow. [00:11:22] Speaker A: I forget that sometimes. I think it's 2023. Anyway, Rivers Cuomo performed a solo acoustic concert at the beat kitchen in Chicago, Illinois. [00:11:30] Speaker B: All right. [00:11:31] Speaker A: And the 15th song he played was this great song called La Girls by Weezer. And we just so happen to have it pulled up for y'all. [00:11:41] Speaker B: We do. [00:11:42] Speaker A: We do. [00:11:43] Speaker B: Should we let them listen to it? [00:11:44] Speaker A: I think we are. [00:11:45] Speaker B: All right, well, here's La Girls by Weezer. [00:11:57] Speaker A: Wvuafm Tuscaloosa. [00:12:07] Speaker B: That was lullaby by the cure. Welcome back to 90.7, the morning show. And here on the morning show, we love celebrate the day. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Yeah, every day is worth celebrating. [00:12:20] Speaker B: And I found that it's national siblings day. That's right. April 10, National Siblings Day. Shout out to all you siblings out there. And all of you with siblings out there, shout out to your siblings as well. [00:12:33] Speaker A: Indeed. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a lot of people. [00:12:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So, you know, I know you have a. Have a sibling, Andrew. [00:12:40] Speaker B: I do happen to have an older sister. Yeah, the great Amelia. She just recently graduated from Oklahoma State. [00:12:52] Speaker A: Go cowboys. [00:12:53] Speaker B: Go, cowboys. And we're from outside of Dallas, so go, cowboys. [00:12:57] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a lot, I know. Not the Dallas Cowboys. Hey, screw them. [00:13:02] Speaker B: We don't like them, bro. Watches a few seasons of it's always sunny now. He's an Eagles fan. [00:13:08] Speaker A: Smoke memorialist. I'm a Saints fan. Who that nation, baby. Who that? Who dat? Who that think they gonna beat them Saints? [00:13:15] Speaker B: A lot of people. [00:13:17] Speaker A: Okay? We had a winning record this season. I don't wanna hear they made the playoffs, if not tiebreaker game. [00:13:22] Speaker B: Anyway, anyway, Emilio back. [00:13:24] Speaker A: Y'all don't understand how back we are. [00:13:26] Speaker B: Well, you might be back, but it's our year. [00:13:28] Speaker A: No, you all say that every year. [00:13:30] Speaker B: Exactly. And we all. [00:13:32] Speaker A: Okay, but this, this isn't. This isn't NFL. [00:13:34] Speaker B: This is about Amelia. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Right? About Amelia. [00:13:37] Speaker B: Okay, so where do you sister is now? Chapman University in California, studying film. Chasing her dreams. She has that California living, California dreaming. California dream. [00:13:50] Speaker A: Such a winter stand. [00:13:52] Speaker B: And I'm holding up a picture of me and Amelia in France. I'm holding like a. The best baguette I've ever eaten. That cost me, like a dollar. Nice vanilla coke. Amelia looks like where's Waldo? Holding a croissant. But I love her so much. And I love this photo of us. [00:14:09] Speaker A: Ah, excellent. [00:14:10] Speaker B: It really sums up our sibling relationship. [00:14:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:14:14] Speaker B: And miss her a lot. It's been a little second since I see her. She's very busy. [00:14:21] Speaker A: Very busy. Y'all are on, you know, opposite sides of the nation. Yeah. [00:14:24] Speaker B: So I haven't seen her since we're out about Christmas time. Oh, darn, you know, didn't go home for, you know, spring break and whatnot, so I miss her, you know. Shout out to Amelia. [00:14:36] Speaker A: Shout out, Amelia. [00:14:37] Speaker B: Love you. In California time. She never listens to the morning show. Cause very, very early. [00:14:44] Speaker A: At least now we can finally record again. So she could theoretically listen. [00:14:47] Speaker B: She should be listening. [00:14:48] Speaker A: That's right. She should. Yeah. [00:14:50] Speaker B: Find her the recording. [00:14:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, you know, I have my beloved older brother, Brandon. Word to my older brother, Brandon. He's a great guy. He works at Scott's turf out in Vance. He's an absolutely phenomenal father. And so I'm actually gonna hold up to our listeners and hold up this picture, not of me and him, but because I'm so proud of the man he's become and the dad that he is to my niece, my beloved niece, Avery. She's like four and a half. I'm gonna hold up a picture of him and Avery to my niece, to the microphone, for all our listeners to see. Cause. [00:15:26] Speaker B: Aw. [00:15:27] Speaker A: So, yeah, shout out to my older brother, Brandon. He's a lovely father, a lovely man, and he's a lovely brother. He's a great brother. The best I could ever ask for her. [00:15:39] Speaker B: People are saying he's the best. [00:15:41] Speaker A: True. He's the best. Quite frankly. He's the best. Many people are saying this, so, yeah, shout out to our siblings, Amelia and Brandon. We're big fans of these two people here on the morning show. [00:15:53] Speaker B: You know, real big fans. [00:15:55] Speaker A: Real big fans. Huge fans. [00:15:57] Speaker B: Huge fans. But we like to celebrate the day. But we also. [00:16:02] Speaker A: Oh, well, first off, there's another big thing. [00:16:04] Speaker B: Oh. [00:16:05] Speaker A: You know, for any of our muslim listeners, we would like to wish you an Eid mubarak. You know, happy feasting. You know, today on. I believe it's. I mean, I'm gonna absolutely kill the pronunciation, so apologies to anyone that speaks Arabic, but it's Eid ul Fitr. And so Eid mubaraks. Everyone's celebrating Eid ul fatir today. [00:16:27] Speaker B: We celebrate all the days. It's also national hug your dog day. [00:16:31] Speaker A: Oh, it's national. Oh, I missed you. [00:16:32] Speaker B: And if you don't have a dog, now's your time to get one. [00:16:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Well, I guess let me hold up an image of my dog and my niece hugging my dog. [00:16:40] Speaker B: Aw. [00:16:42] Speaker A: Speaking of my niece, this, even though my niece, neither of the holidays had to do with my niece necessarily, I managed to find a way to include her in both. So shout out to Avery. [00:16:50] Speaker B: Wow. [00:16:51] Speaker A: She's like, almost five now. Great kid. Great kid. [00:16:54] Speaker B: Great kid. [00:16:55] Speaker A: Great kid. One of the better ones. You know, she's phenomenal, folks, quite frankly. [00:17:00] Speaker B: Anyway, we like to celebrate the day, but we also like to celebrate the Crimson White. [00:17:06] Speaker A: That's true. [00:17:06] Speaker B: It's time for where we get all. [00:17:09] Speaker A: Our news and views. [00:17:10] Speaker B: The Crimson White, they're quite literally our neighbors. They walk down the hall for 3 seconds, and you're in their workspace. [00:17:18] Speaker A: Indeed. [00:17:19] Speaker B: Office of Student Media represent. We got WVUA FM, we've got 1956 magazine. We've got the Crimson White, and we've. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Got Alice, which I believe tomorrow are having their launch party. [00:17:33] Speaker B: Having their launch party. And next week I'm also featured in articles. Really? Next week you can expect to start seeing the new copies of 1956 and Alice around campus. [00:17:42] Speaker A: So, yeah, big news for those that love print media. I know I do. [00:17:46] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I got nothing. [00:17:47] Speaker A: There's nothing like pen and paper. [00:17:48] Speaker B: I actually already have my copy of 1956. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Oh, excellent. [00:17:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I got it at the launch party last night. [00:17:54] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I'm sad I can't, I couldn't attend that because I wanted to attend that. [00:17:58] Speaker B: It was, it was in a great hall right by the, by the. Where we're doing rehearsal for degree and rehearsals. Yeah, no, I saw it, and I. [00:18:06] Speaker A: Should have swung by. I didn't think to, but, you know, I wish I could have attended that watch party because I wanted to. And then I really wish, since I'm featured in an article, that I could attend the atlas, one of last rehearsals. But we. We have. We have, we have news. [00:18:20] Speaker B: All right. News and views. Oh, and also we have Marsfield Journal. We were listening. [00:18:24] Speaker A: Oh, and the Mars, I mean, I know we're better shout out. [00:18:28] Speaker B: It's just we kind of went on a tangent. [00:18:29] Speaker A: We did. Yeah, we did, actually. [00:18:30] Speaker B: Crimson White, 1956, Morris Field Journal, WB, UAFM, and Alice. [00:18:34] Speaker A: And also the southern historian. But I've never met a single person on their style. Are they defunct? I don't know what's going on. I don't. [00:18:41] Speaker B: I don't think. I think it's probably one of those cases where, like, it was being carried by a bunch of students who graduated. [00:18:47] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know. I just have never met a person on their staff. But I know people on the staff of every other one anyway. But that's beside the point. That's beside the point. The Crimson White, where we get all our news and views with important on campus news. This is from April 7. This was honors day, if y'all remember. Or. No, it was Sunday, but it's about Honors Day. Cause that's when the inauguration was. This is from Ethan Henry, news editor of the Crimson White. I had a fellow bluntee, I must say. Great guy. The 113th Student Government association inaugurated awards recipients celebrated during honors week. So the student government association held an inauguration ceremony by Gorgis House to swear in members of the university's 113 SGA. President Samad Giuliani, Chief Justice Nick Smith, the executive council of the Student judiciary, and all 50 newly elected senators were all sworn in during this ceremony featuring a speech by Samad Guliani introducing himself, thanking also. Those are all exact quotes. Just want to make sure that I'm not accused of stealing her. Anyway. Introducing himself and thanking those who worked in and alongside the 112 SGA, he then spoke about his own background, and he talked about himself being a first generation student and his perspective being a first gen student. And then former president Dobbs reflected on his time, the SGA, in a statement to the Crimson White, and said he's proud of the positive contributions of the 112th administration made over this past year. His most proud moments were the successes of the individuals around him. And so that's a lovely little statement from President Dobbs and a lovely speech from what I've seen in this article from newly elected President Gilean or newly inaugurated President Giuliani. And so, you know, new SGA and new government in actually inaugurated. [00:20:42] Speaker B: Very exciting indeed. [00:20:45] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a new day in the world of campus government. [00:20:49] Speaker B: I mean, it's pretty important stuff. [00:20:51] Speaker A: So true. [00:20:52] Speaker B: You know, your vote matters. [00:20:54] Speaker A: You know, I, for one, welcome our new overlords, to, quote futurama. [00:21:00] Speaker B: All right, well, I, for one, welcome a little bit of music. Indeed, a little favorite pitch by, what was it? Hotel Mira. [00:21:16] Speaker A: WVUA FM, Tuscaloosa. [00:21:28] Speaker B: Welcome back to 90 point seven's the morning show. And there's something big that's happened in my life here on campus. [00:21:38] Speaker A: Indeed. This is really important. [00:21:40] Speaker B: Magnitude. So I've always ranted on the student center, Auntie Ann's, because they never carry my favorite, the pepperoni nuggets. [00:21:48] Speaker A: They don't have the pepperoni nuggets. [00:21:49] Speaker B: For those of you who don't know, the pepperoni nuggets are, they taste amazing. Better. It's not just like, because, like, the normal nuggets, it's like your cinnamon sugar. Your normal nuggets, they're just bite sized versions of the bigger, the real pretzel, but the pepperoni nuggets, they're their own, are way better than the pepperoni pretzel. Each one has its own pepperoni on it. [00:22:08] Speaker A: Yeah. It improves the pepperoni to Pretzel ratio because I've always said this about pepperoni, like, pretzels, be it the one at Sam's club or the one at Auntie Ann's, there's always way too much pretzel to topping. [00:22:22] Speaker B: Exactly. And. But the nugget ratio, and it's not as crisp. It's like a softer. You don't feel as disgusting eating the pepperoni nuggets as you do a pepperoni pretzel. [00:22:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:32] Speaker B: I don't know what it is. [00:22:33] Speaker A: Probably the lack of grease. [00:22:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I think there's less grease and. [00:22:37] Speaker A: Or you're not looking at the grease because it's not on top of the pretzel. [00:22:39] Speaker B: Exactly. And so it's a. And we never had it. We never had it. But then I look at the menu after, like, spring break. And so this has been a second, and I haven't seen them serve it yet. But I also haven't asked too many times. But lo and behold, the menu is now, like a full mall Auntie Anne's menu. And I'm like, oh, my God. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Yeah, it's got all the lemonades, the pepperoni. Nice. The cinnamon chicken. It's got everything, man. [00:23:00] Speaker B: Those lemon. Those lemonade. [00:23:01] Speaker A: The lemonade hit. They hit. [00:23:03] Speaker B: They hit. [00:23:03] Speaker A: I was saying this. I never go to the. Before we got on break, we were discussing this. You know, I randomly crave lemonade, and for some reason, and I'm kicking myself in the foot, I just never think to go to the auntie Anne's when I'm craving a lemonade. I'll go to, like, chick fil a. But it's, quite frankly, the best lemonade on campus. [00:23:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, it's very, like, fake. You know, it's like. It's not like you're natural lemonade, but. [00:23:26] Speaker A: In the best way possible. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, they commit to it. They go, you get your different flavors. [00:23:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:32] Speaker B: Like, your different lemonades. I think there's a blueberry. There's a blueberry red one. I don't know what it is. [00:23:37] Speaker A: Even the classic lemonade, you know, anything with red forties. [00:23:40] Speaker B: What I love to do is I'll get my pretzel and my lemonade. And I, you know, finish my lemonade and because the, the intense right by the subway, I'll have my cup and then I'll go refill it with like a doctor pepper. [00:23:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:23:52] Speaker B: Because it's one of the few places on campus you can get doctor pepper. That's true. [00:23:56] Speaker A: I think the subway is the only place on campus you can get Doctor pepper. The two subways, I'm not sure. [00:24:00] Speaker B: Wendy's. [00:24:01] Speaker A: Oh yeah, Wendy's has Doctor pepper too. [00:24:03] Speaker B: I forgot about chick fil a doctor pepper. [00:24:05] Speaker A: Do they? I don't know. Chickfila. [00:24:07] Speaker B: Chickfila. Doctor pepper. [00:24:08] Speaker A: Okay, well, anyway, it's the only like, soda fountain where you can get refills. [00:24:11] Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. It's the only, yes. [00:24:15] Speaker A: Oh, Cain's has Doctor pepper, I think. But anyway, you can't refill your drink. Point being, it's the only place you pepper. [00:24:23] Speaker B: Theoretically unlimited Doctor pepper glitch on campus. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Indeed. And no offense to Pib, because, you know, personally, sometimes I crave. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Never had Mister Pib really before coming here. I really like it. [00:24:32] Speaker A: You know, I like it. To me, it's a milder flavor. [00:24:34] Speaker B: I just like soda in general. [00:24:36] Speaker A: Real. [00:24:36] Speaker B: And no, sometimes you, Mister Pib is better than Big Red, I'll tell you that. [00:24:40] Speaker A: I love. Okay, I like big red. [00:24:43] Speaker B: I'm just gonna cue on some double bubble bubble gum because it's the exact same flavor I'm drinking bubble gum. [00:24:50] Speaker A: It's kind of, it kind of is drinking bubble. [00:24:52] Speaker B: It's exactly like with a little cream soda. [00:24:54] Speaker A: It's like you poured a shot. [00:24:55] Speaker B: It is like a slightly creamier, but it. If you say that's anyway, but that lemonade, the lemonade. Swear there's caffeine in it. [00:25:03] Speaker A: There's a bit. I don't panera charged lemonade. [00:25:06] Speaker B: No, no. [00:25:06] Speaker A: But maybe it's like a cup of joe or at least a glass of. [00:25:09] Speaker B: Your first cup of coffee. Yeah. And I kind of like, I think it's weird that, I don't know, like I feel like it should be advertised. [00:25:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:18] Speaker B: You know, because I don't immediately think caffeine. [00:25:20] Speaker A: Maybe because it's artificial. It's all the artificial dyes in there. Wow. Because I don't. But if I was like when I was a kid, if I had any yellow dye, I'd be jacked up worse than any amount of caffeine could. Like, you know, I couldn't. I could drink as many cokes as I want to and I'd be normal with all the caffeine but the single second my lips touched a mountain dew as a child, I'd be off the wall. [00:25:41] Speaker B: What about the mellow yellow? [00:25:43] Speaker A: Either of them surprising? [00:25:46] Speaker B: We have, like, a fresh food company has, like, the mellow yellow there. Yeah, I like to, you know, there's a lot of good combinations. I call it the swamp water mellow yellow and powerade. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's a good. [00:25:55] Speaker B: Or mellow yellow and lemonade. And then sometimes lemonade and Powerade or all three. [00:25:59] Speaker A: Lemonade. Powerade is a classic combo. [00:26:01] Speaker B: Powerade is very powerful. So you definitely want to use more mellow yellow or lemonade to your. [00:26:06] Speaker A: Yeah, no, 100%. It's an overpowering flavor. The blue Mountain, you know. And other than that, other than. Other than random beverages and any other. [00:26:13] Speaker B: Beverages, we got a. [00:26:15] Speaker A: We. Yeah. And Auntie Ann's. We were winging it. [00:26:18] Speaker B: We were winging it a bit. [00:26:19] Speaker A: Or we're. We're fixing to wing it with y'all. [00:26:22] Speaker B: Cause. [00:26:22] Speaker A: And by that, I mean discuss chicken wings. [00:26:24] Speaker B: Because I've had all the wings on the strip. [00:26:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:27] Speaker B: And I haven't had all of them. [00:26:28] Speaker A: On the strip, but I've had plenty of wing spots around. [00:26:30] Speaker B: Yeah. You might even know more than me. [00:26:32] Speaker A: I do. I haven't had voodoo, though. [00:26:33] Speaker B: And I haven't had voodoo. [00:26:34] Speaker A: I haven't had the voodoo wings. [00:26:35] Speaker B: See, voodoo is. It's. It's like exactly what you want, you know, then they take your dining dollars band with cash, whatever it might be. Kind of on the expensive end of all the wing options. But you're getting exactly what you want. [00:26:49] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. No, that's about, you know, I just go to beef feels when I want to use dining dollars on my wings. I need to try voodoo. I do. [00:26:54] Speaker B: Buffalo fills has the better sides and. But okay. Voodoo wings. We could refill your beverage. They have mug root beer. [00:27:03] Speaker A: They have mug. Mug is on the menu. [00:27:05] Speaker B: They have mug me when mug is on them. As a mug blooded America, I'm drinking gallons of mug root. [00:27:12] Speaker A: It's so darn hard to find. Mug. There's barks, places. Not enough. [00:27:15] Speaker B: Don't like seeing in stories you don't like, you know? But, yeah, voodoo wing come excellent. You get your big cup of mug root beer, whatever, you know, mug wings you want. You get your ranch and you get like your. Your french fry. They're like wedge things. They're pretty good. [00:27:29] Speaker A: Oh, they. [00:27:29] Speaker B: And they're tastes really good in the ranch or exercise at the bottom. [00:27:33] Speaker A: Now, we were also discussing hot tank wingstop over, because. Let me explain. And you can. You can tell me if you agree with my judging system. Now, when I want to judge objectively if a chicken wing spot is good. [00:27:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:46] Speaker A: I go on two flavors. Original buffalo honey barbecue. [00:27:51] Speaker B: Those are classics. [00:27:52] Speaker A: Wingstop. They don't have the best of either of them. They're meh. Now, they win because the, you know, people go to them because they have interesting specialty flavors, like, you know, the spicy korean. It's very good. [00:28:04] Speaker B: They had a special Dallas Cowboys lemon dry rub. [00:28:07] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, did they? [00:28:08] Speaker B: Oh, that was really good. [00:28:09] Speaker A: The Cajun rub is good. They have extremely good ranch. But the thing is, based on my rating scale of two flavors, they're just all right. They're pretty good. Yeah, they're kind of meh. [00:28:20] Speaker B: If they're overrated, if you want that niche, you go there. But if you just want. I'm like, I just feel in the mood for jinglings. [00:28:25] Speaker A: You're classic hot wing. I don't want to go there, you. [00:28:26] Speaker B: Know, unless that's, like, the only thing in the area. But it's chicken wing. It's usually not. No, but it reminds me, I have a very similar system. [00:28:33] Speaker A: You do? [00:28:34] Speaker B: All right. Pizza places. [00:28:36] Speaker A: Pizza places. [00:28:36] Speaker B: Everyone loves these, like, fun flavors. Artists in pizza places. No, if a pizza place does not have a good cheese pizza, a good cheese slice, they don't have good pizza. [00:28:45] Speaker A: No. I'd concur, because I don't do cheese. I do pepperoni is my judgment. But still, it's very similar. [00:28:51] Speaker B: You can do either or. [00:28:53] Speaker A: Sometimes you could even get away with an italian sausage if you're feeling free. [00:28:56] Speaker B: You know, because that's still pretty classic. But, yeah, like, a cheese. But thing is, pepperoni also works. Yeah, but a pepperoni still has a chance of making a mediocre cheese pizza taste better. That is true. At its essence. Pizza, and it's pepperoni. [00:29:12] Speaker A: That's true. [00:29:13] Speaker B: And so it's a very, very similar sort of rating scale. And I feel you. The wings. I. When I tested all the wings on the strip, I got buffalo wings. [00:29:22] Speaker A: That's true. [00:29:23] Speaker B: Buffalo is just my favorite, you know, pretty basic. [00:29:25] Speaker A: You know, if I'm craving a wing, like, sometimes I'm like, I want barbecue, or I want lemon pepper, and I'll get it. But if I just have a craving for a wing in its most basest form, if I just want wing, it is buffalo. [00:29:37] Speaker B: Okay, well, we talk about wingstop and overrated. What are your opinions on buffalo wild wings? [00:29:42] Speaker A: It's. It's pretty good. It's not great. It's pretty good. But I do enjoy the Bogo wing Thursdays. [00:29:48] Speaker B: Yeah, they've really expanded their menu in the last. [00:29:50] Speaker A: They have like their burgers. I've never gotten a burger, but I have friends that will go there and they'll get burgers and they say they're quite good. [00:29:56] Speaker B: They have their wings. They're really good about getting you just extra cups of sauce. [00:30:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, yeah. [00:30:01] Speaker B: Their french fries are really good. Oh, they do have good onion rings. They have like pretzel. All they have. You can get a whole spread of, of things. [00:30:08] Speaker A: You can. It's quite interesting. [00:30:09] Speaker B: And oh, also hot take. [00:30:11] Speaker A: I forgot to mention when discussing wing ratings, certain sauces go better on certain types of wings. [00:30:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:17] Speaker A: I've been saying this as in with my rating system of the two classics, honey, barbecue is much better on boneless wings. Buffalo is much better on traditional wings. That's my take. [00:30:30] Speaker B: I agree. Definitely. I don't get boneless wings. [00:30:33] Speaker A: I don't get them much. But like, if they're on sale, like, but bdubs does bogo wing Thursdays, Applebee's does 50 cent wing days. [00:30:40] Speaker B: It's because I think if you, the bones out there are much better ways to eat chicken. [00:30:46] Speaker A: No, 100%. And also a boneless wing, it really isn't a wing. It's just a big nugget tossed in sauce. It's still good as a sauce delivery mechanism. [00:30:54] Speaker B: It's your effort nugget. [00:30:55] Speaker A: It's just a sauce delivery system, essentially. And like I said, I still, like I get them if they're on sale. [00:31:00] Speaker B: Cause wings, part of wings is an experience. It's the holding it and it's chicken. [00:31:04] Speaker A: Skin being on there still, you know. [00:31:06] Speaker B: I could understand, you know, if you want boneless wings. You know, like if you want to eat neater because like the mess around your, like your face and your hands. [00:31:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Instead of getting a fork and poking. [00:31:15] Speaker B: You know, and I mean, at the end of the day, it's good chicken, so you can't really knock it. [00:31:19] Speaker A: No, I'm not knocking boneless wings. I'm just saying a, one flavor goes better with them, and b, I normally just get boneless wings if there's a deal going on on them as opposed to bone and wings. Infrequently, places do specials on boneless wings, but won't on bone and wings. You know what I mean? Like beat up bogo wing Thursday. [00:31:36] Speaker B: So what's your go to for wings? [00:31:37] Speaker A: Go to for wings and wingspace, the place I go to the most just because it's, it's really close, as in it's like a five minute walk from my apartment. [00:31:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:45] Speaker A: Don't have to hop in a car or nothing. Is the wing zone. [00:31:49] Speaker B: Is that good? [00:31:50] Speaker A: It's pretty darn good. They have interesting sides there because they have, like, fried Mac and cheese bites. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Oh. [00:31:56] Speaker A: And they're quite good. [00:31:57] Speaker B: Okay. [00:31:59] Speaker A: Yeah, no, they're really good. I highly recommend the fried Mac and cheese bites there, man. Yeah. [00:32:03] Speaker B: But we got the Anteans, which I feel like today. Now I have to, like, stop by and see. They got those pepperoni nuggets. Even if they're like, yeah, we need to make them. I will wait. Like, I will wait for those. Yeah, just, like, come back. Cause, like, give them to me. Like, I haven't had them in months since last time I was at University mall. [00:32:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:23] Speaker B: But it's great. All right, well, let's take it back to some music first. We got some messages for you, but we'll see you here soon on 90.7. Good morning show. [00:32:43] Speaker A: Wvuafm tuscaloosa. [00:32:54] Speaker B: That was darling by real estate. Welcome back to 90 point seven's, the morning show. We continued our amazing food conversation, and we're ranting on pizza. We were yapping on pizzas for a bit. We're talking about the pizza on campus. The pizza off campus. And, man, there's so much pizza. [00:33:13] Speaker A: There's so many pizza chains. [00:33:14] Speaker B: There's too many pizza chains. [00:33:16] Speaker A: Many pizza chains. We're discussing how little Caesars has a special place in our hearts. Yeah. [00:33:20] Speaker B: I feel like little Caesars is our top, you know. Yeah, it's 90.7 in the morning show. [00:33:24] Speaker A: It's so affordable. I'm a supporter of Little Caesars. [00:33:28] Speaker B: Little Caesars pizza. [00:33:29] Speaker A: This was not an official endorsement. [00:33:31] Speaker B: Not an endorsement. [00:33:32] Speaker A: FCC, Federal Communications commission. That was not an official endorsement by this radio station of Little Caesars pizza. [00:33:37] Speaker B: We, the two individuals on the show, both personally, these were our personal views. [00:33:42] Speaker A: Little Caesars also, I discussed, in my view, that certain flavors of pizza are better on certain types of crust. Yeah. [00:33:49] Speaker B: Cause this was inspired by. [00:33:50] Speaker A: This was inspired by the Pizza hut on campus, you know, the Pizza Hut Express. Cause they only served personal pan pizza. And I was like, I really wish they didn't do that. Because sometimes on a meat lover's pizza, and in my opinion, the meat lover's pizza is best served on that, like, pizza hut thin cracker crust, you know, the real crispy crust. But then supreme pizza is best served in that pan form. And that's my take on the issue. [00:34:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Because, like, those top. The toppings just fall off. They do pan ones. [00:34:17] Speaker A: Yeah, like, the mushrooms will fall off. You know, I don't know. I can't explain it, really. [00:34:24] Speaker B: It just simply doesn't work. It just doesn't work. [00:34:26] Speaker A: It just doesn't work. And we were. [00:34:28] Speaker B: Yeah, but I wish. When are we getting little caesars on campus? [00:34:32] Speaker A: So true. And we were discussing. He's never been to hungry house. I have never been the wonders of Howie bread. [00:34:37] Speaker B: I. Well, you know what pizza place? We didn't talk about cc's. [00:34:41] Speaker A: See, I love. In fact, I ate cc's last week. [00:34:44] Speaker B: Really? [00:34:44] Speaker A: I love. [00:34:45] Speaker B: You have to go out of your way. [00:34:47] Speaker A: No, CC's is always out of the way. It's never in the way. [00:34:51] Speaker B: It's never. You have to make up. [00:34:52] Speaker A: It's wonderful. [00:34:53] Speaker B: You have to have a premeditated plan to go to CC's. [00:34:56] Speaker A: I've never gonna be. I've never gotten pizza from CC. Like, ate whole pizza from CC. I've only the buffet once, and that was one of my friends, for some reason, got a pizza from Cece's. But the buffet, the buffet hits. It's something special. [00:35:08] Speaker B: The desserts are pretty good. [00:35:10] Speaker A: Specifically, it's hard to find. For some reason. It's always the first dessert to go there. Not to be confused with the apple pie dessert pizza, which is the bavarian cream pizza with the apples on top. The bavarian cream pizza. Immaculate. [00:35:24] Speaker B: Yeah, we. I need to go back to CC. It's been too long. Let me in the buffet. I'm not gonna eat for a few days. And then they're gonna go in there. Gonna be a monster. [00:35:35] Speaker A: Real. [00:35:36] Speaker B: No one's seen an eater like, you know, oh, man. [00:35:39] Speaker A: It's like Joey Chestnut levels. [00:35:41] Speaker B: This, this. You know, my dad met Joey Chestnut one time. [00:35:44] Speaker A: That's amazing. [00:35:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:46] Speaker A: He met the Joey Chestnut. Yeah. [00:35:47] Speaker B: Yeah. If it wouldn't take me so long to find the photo, I would hold it up to the audience. [00:35:51] Speaker A: To the audience. Remind. They say that whoever listeners, if you know one of us personally, please text us next week and remind us to show up the image of little of Joey Chestnut. [00:36:02] Speaker B: Joey Chestnut, if you're listening, also Joey. [00:36:04] Speaker A: Chestnut, if you're listening, please call in. Actually, don't because we're fixing after sign off. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Next time. Next time. [00:36:10] Speaker A: Next time. Joey Chestnut, call in next week. If you're listening along with Danielle. [00:36:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you can. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Danielle, you haven't called in for yet another week. [00:36:17] Speaker B: Please call Wednesdays, eight to 10:00 a.m. You can catch us next week on the morning show. I've been Andrew. Howdigi. [00:36:26] Speaker A: I've been Christian. Martin. Martin. [00:36:28] Speaker B: And we'll see you all next week. [00:36:30] Speaker A: Stay gold, pony boys. Wvuafm tuscaloosa.
